The CNY Regional Market opened on April 1, 1938. As we enter our 82nd year of operation we reflect on the improvements that have been made since opening year. During the 1990s, the board of directors began to plan and implement phase one of the restoration of the market’s estate. The first phase of restoration was completed by 1997 which included construction of the truck court and the rail spurs were removed. Shorty after phase one was completed the renovation of A shed began. In 1997, the authority received a grant to improve upon the remaining market estate. Through the grant, the commission houses were completed along with the administration buildings all while completing the commons in 2001. The most recent improvement on the estate was the construction of the F shed that was completed by April 1, 2013.
